David and his three wives

Me and my sister along with my cousin loaded up all the kids (7 in all) and visited the Zilker Botanical gardens. Since David was the only male present, it seemed prudent to joke about how he was out with his three wives....I of course was the 1st wife. Anyway, the kids got to run wild and roll in the grass and get all itchy.

Little sister's circus trick, always freaks me out.

Cutie Pumpkin Pie

The kiddos got to go on a little field trip to the Pumpkin Patch this morning while at daycare. It was a little chilly (no for real) so Sadie got bundled up. Jonah hammed it up as usual for the camera.

He got his very own pumpkin!

Still too little to browse.

She looks ready for nap

Back in the sadddle again....

Oh the joys of shovel testing. I finally go to do some survey last week out in the sticks near Georgetown. It's been probably 2+ years since I've actually done any hard labor in the field since I've been pregnant for so long. It was a relatively easy project, however I didn't pack enough water the last day and kind of got the shakes towards the end. I got sunburnt, chiggers, ripped my pants on a barbed wire fence, and got shot at by dove hunters. Overall, a very typical day in the field......wonderful!

An old picture from an excavation in South Africa, ca. 2003. We
spent a couple of months excavating a 50,000 year old campsite. Not only was the excavation amazing, but the entire field season was an adventure. Much thanks to my mentor Dr. Bousman at Texas State University for this awesome experience. My and my crew in South Africa. They were amazing and it was really freezing cold. They called me Missus and seemed to enjoy my Texas-style cooking.
Here I am with a wonderful group of undergrads from Texas State in 2004. We were excavating a site in the Texas Panhandle. I wrote my Master's Thesis on this site. We camped out in the high plains for 6 weeks and loved every minute of it.

Finally I'm updating the blog. We have been a little busy with the newest edition to the family, Sadie. She's wonderful and I been very bad about taking and uploading pictures of her. Just imagine Jonah with dark brown spikey hair and you've got Sadie. She's 10 weeks old now and and Jonah is about to be a year and half. Anyway, here's some recent pics of some other family members.

Cowboy Jo, looks like he's been eating some powdered donuts!

New house, new baby, new gray hairs?

This past weekend we finally closed on our house and officially moved in. As you can imagine, I didn't do much except chase Jonah around an admire our new digs. Thankfully David had some much needed help from my bro-in-law Justin and bff J. Garrett. The fleet of Dodge Dakotas revved up and down Manchaca hauling boxes most of the weekend while my mom and Leah helped to unpack boxes and organize. We ordered new furniture and took our first tour of Lowe's as homeowners in need of bird-feeders, rakes, screws, and whatever other miscellaneous crap that seemed shiny and irrestible. Thankfully the little girl decided that she wanted to stay in the belly a little longer, so here I sit at work wondering if I feel labor pains or not. I'm sure we'll be heading to the hospital soon and I'll be enjoying my new couches in my new house with my new little baby. Can't wait!! Please feel free to come by and visit (and bring food!).

Jonah's 1st birthday

Well, we had to cancel Jonah's 1st birthday party because the weather was rainy and cold. But we didn't pass up the opportunity to shove a cupcake in his face. I think he liked it. Grandma Marcelle was there to enjoy the fun.
